So I entered my short film Voicemail into a shorts film fest through NBC and Universal and we were 1 of 14 semi finalist that were chosen out of 1700. I am so honored and excited to be chosen. The hard work that myself, Simone Missick and Tiffany McMichael put in is paying off.
NBC flew me out to NYC last for a screening of all the films chosen and it was better than expected. First of all, I was very impressed with the festival in general. No submission fee. Very nice staff including Jandiz Estrada and Alisha Cowan. They even gave us a lucheon at Humphreys in Mahattan and put our pics, posters and names on a digital billboard across the street.
My film was well recieved. After a long list of dramas, Voicemail played last and the crowd laughed NON STOP. I wasnt even thinking about the finals because I was surprised to get this far but now I think we have a chance to be invited back.
Here a few pics from the ceremony, hosted By Extras AJ Calloway (former host of 106 and Park) and lucheon. Special thank you to the founder of the film fest Wil Sylvince and comedian Tony Rock for coming through and showing support.
